You Sure Look Good Spending That Cash

These boys may be young, but they are pretty mature when it comes to spending their cash. At 24, Mike Green and at 22, Nicklas Backstrom of the Washington Capitals are two players who know how to work luxury.

So just for fun (and having nothing to do with Hockey except for the fact that you can catch these two playing next against Boston on October 19th at 7:30 pm) – I thought I’d show you the cars owned between these two players making upwards of 5 million in their early twenties.

Between the two – they own: Bentley Continental GT, Lamborghini Gallardo, Mercedes SUV, Cadillac Escalades and Mercedes SL63 AMG.

Really Nice Cars

I’d like to take a ride in the back seat of any of those cars. Goodnight tonight boys – all I know is that regardless if you win or lose, you’re pulling away from that arena in a very, very sweet ride.

NHL Division Standings – Goodness Gracious Goalies

We’re only about three weeks into hockey season and we’re already seeing fans planning the parade (ahem* – Leafs).  I must extend my heartfelt congrats, the Leafs have been doing an excellent job and they are 4-0-0 … pretty impressive compared to their past. But, just because three weeks into hockey season you are at the top of your division, doesn’t mean you’re going to stay there. Just for your records, here are the teams coming out on top:  Eastern: Philadelphia, Toronto and Tampa Bay – Western: Nashville, Colorado, Dallas

So now that the stats are out of the way – here’s a look at the delicious-ness of some of our fave goalies keeping these teams on top. We rarely get to see them under that face-mask, so it’s time they get a little more attention.

Goalies should be taking off their face masks a little more often. Don’t you agree? Who is your fave goalie, for looks or skills?

Sidney Crosby for Dempsters

Healthy eating never looked so good. One of PuckHoney’s faves (and I know we say we have a lot of faves, but seriously Sid is top 5) Sidney Crosby is now promoting Dempsters Whole Grain bread. I must say … he looks much more delicious than that turkey sandwich he’s promoting in the commercial.

Take a look at it here:

Good for you Syd – encouraging kids to eat healthy and stay active. You might just be the best thing since sliced bread 😉

Division Rivals – Preds @ Hawks Oct. 13th

If there is one game I’m most looking forward to today, its The Preds @ The Hawks at 7:30 pm EST in Chi-Town tonight. Whose not making the trip? – apprently Kostitsyn, Lundmark, Rinne and Erat won’t be on the road.

Staying in Nashville: Kostitsyn, Lundmark, Rinne and Erat

Who am I going to miss the most – why Jamie Lundmark of course! Look at those cheekbones. Which of these four player do you think The Preds needs most?

Pominville Down and Out on A Dirty Hit

What do you think about the dirty hit Pominville suffered from Hjalmarsson in the Blackhawks / Sabers game on Monday October 11th. Pominville left Monday’s game on a stretcher and it has been confirmed he his a concussion.

You can check out the hit here:

The Sabers head coach, Lindy Ruff, commented today saying, “He’s doing okay, he got sewn up, he’s sitting up.” Surprisingly, Ruff didn’t have harsh words for Hjalmarsson, “That was bad. He’s not that type of player but he made a mistake obviously.”

No word on how long Pominville will be out of the game – get better soon, PuckHoney misses you already.

Michael Del Zotto: Suit Up!

Hockey players have something very special about them … they look just as hot in full equipment as they do suited up. So, with the Rangers playing the Islanders today (October 11th at 1:00pm EST) I thought it would be a great day for an Ranger’s eye-candy debate. What look do you think Michael Del Zotto (The 6 foot NYR defenseman) pulls off best – jersey, suit or no shirt at all? Although it is tempting to pick the shirtless look, I’m going to have to say he looks oh-so-sexy all suited up in Hugo Boss.

Michael Del Zotto: The Debate

P.S. not only is he absolutely georgeous he is nice too, the NYR tweeted today “Very nice! Michael Del Zotto exits the ice, picks up puck, and hands it to littlest fan wearing #NYR jersey near tunnel to locker room…” – how adorable, we love him even more now!

Battle of Ontario Reignighted

The Battle of Ontario was reignighted last night with a bang with three fights including the heavy-weight clash of Matt Carkner and Colton Orr. Carrie Underwood’s hubby Mike Fisher tillied new Leaf player Kris Versteeg while long time Sen Chris Neil duked it with Mike Brown and his handlebar moustache. What do you ladies think of that dirty ‘stache Brown has been sporting? There is something oddly attractive about it …

The Dish on Dallas

The saying goes “It’s Bigger In Texas” … and ladies if that’s true we might have to add The Stars to our list of favourite teams. The Dallas Stars play The Devils tonight on the road in Jersey. Get your best snookie pouf and faux diamond hoop earrings ready for the 7:00 pm EST start.

Here is a nice visual of what the team line up is expected to be this evening.

The End of NHL Pre-Season

It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year … finally this Thursday, October 7th at 12:00 pm EST we will get what we have been waiting for all summer long, the NHL official season begins. The NHL premiere game will pit the Carolina Hurricanes against the Minnesota Wild to be followed by an intense rival game of the Toronto Maple Leafs against The Montreal Canadiens.

So PuckHoney fans here comes the most important question – who will be the hottest captain to glide along the ice this Thursday. In this classic battle of blondes vs. brunettes lets take a critical look what jersey with a “C” you would like to see come right off.

Match One: Hurricanes vs. Wild

For The Hurricanes we have Eric Stall a 6 foot 4 babe weighing in at 205 pounds was Mikko Koivu Blue Eyesdrafted 1st round, 2nd overall. He has three other brothers who play in the NHL, so with this boy as your arm candy you are sure to get noticed.

For The Wild we’ve got Mikko Koivu at 6 foot 2 and 200 pounds he one well proportioned captain. This blue-eyed cutie was born in Finland, we’d hop on his sleigh anytime. (In case you didn’t get that reference, Finland is famous for reindeer … Santa had reindeer … and Santa also had a sleigh.)

Winner: Stall

Match Two: Leafs Vs. Habs

Dion Phaneuf & Elisha Cuthbert

Dion Phaneuf & Elisha Cuthbert

For The Leafs we’ve got Dion Phaneuf a 6 foot 3 Edmonton born piece of hunk born in ’85 and shoots left. Pro’s for Phaneuf include that he was drafted 1st round (9th overall). We give him props for his super hot relationship with PuckHoney Elisha Cuthbert (the girl next door).

For Habs we have tall, dark and oh so handsome Brian Gionta. The 5 foot 7 hottie was born in ’79. Points go to Gio for being one of the worlds sexiest dad (and his $25 million dollar/5 year contract helps).

Winner: Gionta

Now it comes down to Gionta and Stall … a tough choice ladies isn’t it? I’m going to have to claim the winner is Stall just for the fact that his 6 foot 4 frame means I can buy all of the 6inch Louboutins I want.

Champion: Stall

Paul Maurice: An Absolute Fox

Paul Maurice of The Hurricanes

Paul Maurice

With the NHL regular season premiere game fast approach all eyes are on head coaches Paul Maurice of the Hurricanes and Todd Richards of the Minnesota Wild. Although the coaches insights are interesting, why has nobody noticed what an absolute fox Paul Maurice is?

Coaches get over looked in the sea of hot hockey players, but I think it’s time to start paying a little more attention to them.

Coach Paul Maurice

Paul Maurice

According to a Hurricanes news piece Wednesday, October 6th – “Paul Maurice and his players feel that they’re well-prepared for the start of the regular season despite the highly-unorthodox schedule.” Do you think this silver fox can bring on a win?
